Overview
I have learned many great things that I have enjoyed sharing with others. Some of the items that many friends have been interested in besides how to blog are the de.licio.us account, flickr and wiki. The de.licio.us account is great because you can access your favorite websites without being at your home computer. Flickr is a perfect place to save pictures and have access to them anywhere and not use up home computer space.
Session 6 Podcast, Vodcast & E-books

Tonight we learned about Podcast and Vodcast. These are were you can save and play back digital and videos using a portable player or computer. This is very popular not only with younger individuals , but all people enjoy downloading old or new music. We also learned about E-books. Most of them appear to be the classics and for high school students. A device called a kindle can be used to read and store e-books. The site for E-books is http://www.planetebook.com/.

Session 5 Wiki's and google docs
Tonight I learned more about wiki's. Wiki's are factual, while a blog is more opinions. Both allow you to comment on them. I went in and edited the Klein 20 wiki. You can view the history of the wiki and see who and what each person has changed or added to the wiki. In addition, I learned about google docs. This allows you to save documents on a website and individuals you have given permission to view may view, make changes or save the documents on your personal computer. The really great advantage is that if your original document was saved using a newer version of a computer program, you can still show the document because it has been saved on google docs.

Session 4 Photos and Images

Tonight I created my flickr account. I learned how to upload images to my flickr account and also how I can find great pictures on other individuals flickr accounts. We also reviewed a site that allows you to do creative things with your pictures (cards, comic captions, etc.) I also added my flickr and the image generator site to my del.icio.us account. This will allow me to access these any time. One great site for image generation is http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/ this site allows students to make trading cards. This could be used for landforms or simple machines, just to name a couple of easy applications. This allows students to find a picture and give a definition of some important features. Students could share and collect the cards. Great way for students to take ownership of terms or concepts. This site also allows students to make jigsaw puzzles, dice and other neat items.

Third Session: Tagging, Folksonomies and Technorati
Tonight started off very stressful. Hopefully they will have the kinks fixed for good. Once I was able to get on the website, the information was very exciting. I really enjoyed the del.icio.us site. That is a great tool. Looking forward to continuing to find websites that I want to save.
